Ferne Eleanor Woolliscroft Dahlstrom entered into rest on March 11, 2014, at the age of 103. She was an elementary school teacher for 44 years, mentoring third graders in several communities in Washington state. She dedicated her life to being kind and was widely thought of as the nicest person around. Ferne outlived her husband of 41 years, and her two younger sisters, Ruth and Florence. She is survived by her two daughters, Virginia Chapman and Dianne Gorle. Additionally, she leaves behind five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. After Chet died in 1975, Ferne enjoyed travel with friends and family including trips to Tahiti, London, Ireland, Canada, Alaska, Washington DC & Sweden. She loved the mountains, yellow roses, Dr. Seuss books, and family geneology research. She truly loved teaching and all five grandchildren have happy recollections of being taught to read, write, sew pillowcases and doll clothes, and to play the Ukelele, among many other things. She made learning fun! Her last decade was spent at the Pinewood Terrace Retirement facility in Colville, WA. We cherish the fond memories of how she impacted and improved our lives. We will always love you!
