PLASTINO, BROOKE S

Brooke S. Plastino Age: 69 (6 / 4 / 1947 - 6 / 4 / 2016) Brooke passed suddenly and unexpectedly, at home, with his wife and children present. He was born to Holly and Joe Plastino on June 4, 1947, and died on his Birthday, June 4, 2016. Brooke lived with his Grandparents, Gus and Anna Fix, much of his childhood, returning to care for his Grandfather in his Senior years. Brooke served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era, stationed in Germany. While there he was able to visit Italy, Spain, and other Countries. He loved the European Art. He graduated from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado with an Archaeology Degree. He worked the Four Corners area in the Southwest, and was at Mesa-Verde for a while. He was also an Archaeologist with Washington State Archaeological & Historical Services at E. W. U.. Some of you may remember Brooke when he was legislative assistant to former County Commissioner Bonnie Mager. He was a Business Owner & Community Leader in Hillyard, having a major part in getting Hillyard on the National Historical Register as a Historical Business District. He was a mover in acquiring the Hillyard Skate Park for the Community, Co-Founder of the Hillyard 'ChalkArtWalk' event, participated in the Neighborhood Clean-up and many other Events. A long-time Bemiss neighborhood leader, he fought to support safety and vitality of the neighborhood. He was involved in many organizations and efforts in the Greater Hillyard area and was a strong voice for the needs of working families. More recently, Brooke was a prolific user of Nextdoor, a social networking site that connects people within neighborhoods. He used the site to let folks know about crime & promote Events and positive things going on in the neighborhood. He and his wife loved to go camping in the Mountains, he loved Nature. He enjoyed working in his Garden, on his home, carving, and Flint Knapping. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his Grandchildren, kids, and Family. He was an Artist, a Father, a Husband, a Grandfather, a Son, a Brother, an Uncle and so many other things to other people. Brooke is survived by his loving wife, Vicki of 24 years, his Daughter, Kiley (Colo), His Step-children, Michael Killough (Tawnya) Spokane, and Jessie Anderson (Chris) Spokane, and 11 Grandchildren. He was preceded in Death by his Grandparents, Gus & Anna Fix, Monica Edsell, His Step-Father Buddy Jones and his Uncle John Plastino. There will be a Memorial at the Salvation Army Chapel, 222 E. Indiana Ave, Spokane Wash on Friday, June 10, 11 a.m.. Everyone who knew or knew of Brooke is welcome. A Reception at his Son's home will be at 3 pm.
