ALLEN, NOLA N.

Nola Noreen Allen, aged 65, passed away April 9th, 2015 from heart failure. She was born in Spokane, WA on February 17, 1950, the youngest of Glenn and Freda Allen's children. Nola was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Gail, Wilma, Norman and Richard Allen; as well as life partner Robert Beare. She is survived by siblings Ellery Allen of Post Falls, ID and Patricia Garcia of Wichita Falls, TX. She had 13 nieces and nephews. Nola is survived by the father of her 3 children, Thomas Potts, daughters Charlyne Allen of Kennewick, WA, Heather (David) Bible of Salt Lake City, Utah, and her son Gregg (Jennifer) Allen of Spokane WA. Her grandchildren are Adam Pendleton and Isobel Allen. Nola attended school in the East Valley District. She excelled in instrumental music, participating in Washington All State Band in 1968. Nola studied instrumental music at Eastern Washington University, and then years later English and History at Gonzaga University. She was employed at Carpet Salvage, Pacific Trail, Goodwill Industries and the Spokane International Airport, in addition to managing offices at National Food Corp., and the Moose Lodge. Nola will be remembered for her passion for learning, many interests and love for animals. She spent her adult life gardening, canning, caring for small animals, restoring antique sewing machines, and sewing. She led horse 4-H, pursued her Master Gardener's Certificate, and participated in Boat Club activities. A private memorial will be held Saturday, July 25th.
